Wow, this is a total indictment of the ineffectiveness of our protocols and SOP's on threat detection. If only we had known Hasan's intentions, we could have saved lives. But wait, we did know his intentions! He supports a radical extreme jihad. We knew that, yet, the veil of political correctness hung over our military. No one was willing to remove him for fear of reprisal. This reveals a huge weakness within the ranks. We must remedy this problem. If our Nation is going to be safe from this type of breach, we will need to polygraph every military personnel. The questions could be limited to simple yes or no questions, like, do you plan on hurting Americans? This is not a fail safe method, but would serve to eliminate the chances of another extremist attack from within our forces.
