You took great pride in receiving this so-called hate mail huh? You feel like a big-time blogger now right?

Well they’re repealing don’t ask don’t tell so you can be “GI Perez Hilton” I guess

This is the Eric that sent him that message. First off I do apologize for the “MY Army” quote, I simply meant as the organization I am a part of, wherein everything another will do while claiming it, reflects almost directly upon myself. I don’t insist you take down anything except for the titles of GI and things of that matter due to the fact some people are not able to discern the opinion of one from the opinion of many. I don’t feel I need to dignify many of your comments and attacks against me with a proper response, especially when others are reading this knowing that I am a member of the Army, I have to keep myself in check. I do find it comical how you went to find me and put on my pictures from my AIT to further attempt to downgrade me. That message was simply meant to be a request from another person in the same organization, but instead you try to label it as “hate-mail” (not directly no but based on your response). Even though you are not active duty you can still be called upon at any time by your unit to serve, that makes you a 24/7 soldier. I’m sure if you read this you’ll try to take everything out of context again, or dissect it piece by piece in a further attempt to downgrade me, even though as mentioned by a previous poster, you don’t know me and, no I do not know you, so I make no accusations except those based on what you have already exhibited through this response. But I don’t have much else to say to you, just think you should put a little more thought and be a little more….considerate with what you post. Like I said before, I dislike how to many people in the US we have a bad image, and even though I do all I can to help that image, there are still those that counteract my attempts.

Nothing is purely good or purely bad. Things are almost always a double bladed sword. I have friends in the army, and while I agree the campaigning is crap, and that a lot of people including one of my friends’ talks down to people now, there’s some good people in there, and it does help SOME people. I disagree with the fact that this guy says he’ll treat idiots like idiots, if he’s always frustrated with people I don’t think he’s a very happy person. I don’t think he cares what I have to say but the military isn’t all that great guys. Be proud if you’re a soldier, but this military does a lot of bad, and some good. And the drill Sgts really drill a bunch of crap into your head. If you join, keep your own ideas and opinions, and make your own thoughts.

That’s what is bred when the campaign for new recruits states…an ARMY of one. I have always laughed at that garbage.

and its not our fault you went N.G. instead of RA so you dont get the benefits.

your still a soldier. you still wear the uniform at least for a weekend out of the month.

My Company commander puts it best

during all his safety briefs he always says.
\
“this weekend, if you see me. I am still Cpt. hadlock, and will act as such, I expect you all to act the same, because we are all still soldiers. in uniform or not.”

I disagree with Eric. As military, you technically do not have right to an opinion. “Food for thought” is irrelevant. It is not YOUR Army. You have the privilege to be a member of a fighting force and you are honestly the working ant (or bitch) of the organization. You have become over protective of this organization that so many people are a part of. Everyone will react as they please to the circumstances given by the “standards” of the Army. I do not agree with many of the standards of the military and as I do follow them, I do so with hesitation. I reflect myself as a member of the Army all the time with stickers on my car and my Myspace. Almost everyone knows someone who is in the Army and they know we must follow standards. So when one breaks the rules and it is known by the public, it is not “Oh the Army is bad” it is “Oh, that person has issues.” That is where you are mistaken, Eric.

I also agree. You do put represent the U.S. army every hour of every day.

I am in the army currently serving in Korea, on leave in the U.S. and no one will see me galavanting around making an ass of myself or my country. we (as soldiers) are expected to live a certain way. It is a direct reflection. People see the things you write about or talk about and take it as the soldiers are like that.

I myself am very proud to be a soldier, and some of the things you say, taint that image. bring us a step down to the readers/listeners.

I know that the only reason i accepted your friend invite on myspace was because of the GIWayne title,
you do not uphold that title to the standard in which it should be upheld.

but as with sarah. i’m sure it doesn’t matter what i say.
and your still not going to change your name or even think about it.

your probably just going to ignore this message.

but i agree with the letter 100%

Yup-its me!

Like you, I’m opinionated. And of course I have my opinion on this. You won’t like it, BUT why else would you post this if you didn’t want response. Anywho, here’s my thought on this.

I’ll break it down for you.

First, because a man/woman are Army 24/7 is NOT a bad thing. I commend him for stepping up and taking his job to heart. People in uniform are and should be held to a certain standard.

Second, I reread his “hate mail” to you and it never once took a personal blow at you (I.e. you have the personality of a limp penis, claiming you’ll be cheated on) so the fact that you had to “down” him because he opposed you made you look like a bag of douche. At least to me it did.

You do, in fact, say things about people (women mostly) that are demeaning in some sense. And I’ve said this to you before, but I’ll say it again, its not “truth” that you speak on. Its YOUR “truth” and what you may see as true. But in most cases, is wrong.

“You don’t know me, so don’t judge me”– all I can say on that is, you may wanna take your own advice. You don’t know him, so don’t judge him.

All in all, you don’t give a shit about what I’m saying. But I’ve still gotta put it out there so maybe, just maybe, a guy will see this and avoid the same douche bagger-ness that you seem to embrace.
